The stories of Moses' leadership of the children of Israel being transfered over to Joshua.
Numbers 11:28 talks of how Joshua had "been Moses' aide since youth."
Numbers 27:22-23 says that "Moses did as the Lord commanded him. He took Joshua and had him stand before Eleazar the priest and the whole assembly. Then he laid his hands on him and commissioned him, as the Lord instructed through Moses."
Moses obeyed the Lord and turned over leadership to Joshua in Deuteronomy 3:28.
The Lord said, "Commission Joshua, and encourage and strengthen him, for he will lead this people across and will cause them to inherit the land that you will see."
The Lord instructed Joshua on how to lead his generation well throughout his lifetime.
Not only did Moses instruct Joshua, but the Lord did also. Joshua 1:6-9 shares how the Lord encouraged and challenged Joshua. "Be strong and very courageous. be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do every thing written in it. then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
To be continued.....
On how he "FAILED TO PASS THE BATON."
How sad!
May we never fail to pass the baton on to the next generation, ladies!
